Schein (1586–1630) – Israelsbrünnlein (Auswahl) \nInmitten des Dreißigjährigen Krieges auf eine Sammlung von Bibelversen komponiert\, vereinen die Musikalischen Exequien von Heinrich Schütz (1585–1672) eine klangvolle Chor- und Solistenbesetzung mit der klaren und einprägsamen Diktion der Textausdeutung der deutschen Motettentradition des Frühbarock und sind so auf ihre Weise komplex und schlicht zugleich. An die Seite der Exequien tritt eine Auswahl von acht Motetten aus der Sammlung Israelsbrünnlein von Johann Hermann Schein (1586–1630) für fünf Singstimmen und Continuo. Scheins vom italienischen Madrigal inspirierte Art der Vertonung lässt dabei deutlich die thematischen Gedankengegensätze hervortreten und stellt so die Verheißung von Erlösung und Vertrauenschöpfen nach einer Zeit tiefer Trauer in Aussicht.
